posthumously to Brevet Brigadier General Strong Vincent for his actions 
in the defense of Little Round Top at the Battle of Gettysburg, July 2,

 Mr. English introduced the following bill; which was referred to the

                                 A BILL


 
  To authorize and request the President to award the Medal of Honor 
posthumously to Brevet Brigadier General Strong Vincent for his actions 
in the defense of Little Round Top at the Battle of Gettysburg, July 2, 
                                 1863.

    Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the 
United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is 
authorized and requested to award (in accordance with award criteria 
applicable at the time) the Medal of Honor posthumously to Brevet 
Brigadier General Strong Vincent, of the State of Pennsylvania, for his 
actions in the defense of Little Round Top at the Battle of Gettysburg 
on July 2, 1863. Such an award may be made under without regard to the 
provisions of section 3744 of title 10, United States Code.
                                 <all>
