Proposed Collection; Comment Request Entitled Architect-Engineer 
and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Project (SF 255)

AGENCIES: Department of Defense (DOD), General Services Administration 
(GSA), and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

ACTION: Notice of request for public comments regarding an extension to 
an existing OMB clearance.

SUMMARY: Under the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 
(44 U.S.C. Chapter 35), the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 
Secretariat will be submitting to the Office of Management and Budget 
(OMB) a request to review and approve an extension of a currently 
approved information collection requirement concerning Architect-
Engineer and Related Services Questionnaire for Specific Project (SF 
255). The clearance currently expires on April 30,1999.

DATES: Comments may be submitted on or before February 22, 1999.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:

A. Purpose

    Standard Form 255 is used by all Executive agencies to obtain 
information from architect-engineer (A-E) firms interested in a 
particular project. The information on the form is reviewed by a 
selection panel composed of professional people and assists the panel 
in selecting the most qualified A-E firm to perform the specific 
project. The form is designed to provide a uniform method for A-E firms 
to submit information on experience, personnel, capabilities of the A-E 
firm to perform, along with information on the consultants they expect 
to collaborate with on the specific project.

B. Annual Reporting Burden

    Public reporting burden for this collection of information is 
estimated to average 1.2 hours per response, including the time for 
reviewing instructions, searching existing data sources, gathering and 
maintaining the data needed, and completing and reviewing the 
collection of information.
    The annual reporting burden is estimated as follows: Respondents, 
5,000; responses per respondent, 4; total annual responses, 20,000; 
preparation hours per response, 1.2; and total response burden hours, 
24,000.
