    In accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (Pub. L. 92-
463, and amended), the National Science Foundation announces the 
following meeting:

    Name: Special Emphasis Panel in Undergraduate Education (#1214).
    Date/Time: December 2, 1999 (7:30 pm-9:00 pm). December 3, 1999 
(8:00 am-5:00 pm). December 4, 1999 (8:00 am-1:00 pm).
    Place: Metro Marriott Hotel at Metro Center, 775 12th Street NW, 
Washington, DC 20005. (202) 737-2200.
    Type of Meeting: Closed.

    Purpose of Meeting: To provide advice and recommendations 
concerning proposals submitted to NSF's ATE Program.
    Agenda: Review and evaluate proposals as part of the selection 
process to determine finalists considered for FY2000 Advanced 
Technological Education.

above.
    Reason for Closing: The proposals being reviewed included 
information of a proprietary or confidential nature, including 
technical information, financial data such as salaries, and personal 
information concerning individuals associated with the proposal. 
These matters are exempt under 5 U.S.C. 552b(c), (4) and (6) of the 
Government in the Sunshine Act.
