Investigator Initiated Grants: Requests for Applications

AGENCY: Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

ACTION: Notice of request for applications (RFA).

SUMMARY: This notice provides information on the availability of a 
fiscal year 2003 program announcement in which areas of research 
interest, eligibility and submission requirements, evaluation criteria, 
and implementation schedules are set forth.

DATES: The RFA opened September 30, 2002 and closes January 7, 2003.

Unlike other EPA RFAs, all necessary forms are included in the RFA.

SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: In its Requests for Applications the U.S. 
Environmental Protection Agency invites research applications in the 
following are of special interest to its mission: Treatment 
Technologies for Arsenic Removal for Small Drinking Water Systems: 
Request for Applications. The objective of this program is to pre-
qualify treatment technologies for a subsequent demonstration program 
which will evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of drinking water 
treatment technologies to meet the new arsenic maximum contaminant 
level (MCL) of 0.01 mg/l for varying source water quality conditions. 
Proposals selected under this competition will be pre-qualified for 
demonstration projects at selected utilities throughout the country.
